Hi to all.

Since we last spoke, we have been at Shepparton for a couple of days and we are now at Echuca.

The caravan park at Shepparton is in a great location, right on the lake.  There is a walking/riding track around it.  The only problem is that the track is very popular with the locals, with some of them starting walking/running around it as early as 6am.  Don't they know some people need their beauty sleep.  (keep your comments to yourself please)

We checked out the local Information Centre and found there is very little to do in Shepp.  Their claim to fame is their mooooving art around the town.  They have statue's of cows painted in various different colours spread all around the town.  That was to advertise their claim to fame of being the dairy centre of Victoria.  Deb couldn't help herself, getting up close and personal with one of the cows.

That night we went for a quick drive across to Mooroopna, only 4 k's away.  The town has a huge water tower in the main street.  At night the water tower is lit up with different colours.  It is pretty cool to look at, at least better than the normal boring water tower.

That was enough excitement for the day so back to the safety of our van.  Up bright and early next morning and we headed in to check out the Shepparton Art Gallery.  I know that you all need a bit of culture in your lives, so I have taken a few snaps of the artwork on display.

Awesome huh...

One thing that really impressed us in the gallery was the statue of a woman holding a little baby.  It was just so lifelike, you really had to touch it just to be sure it was not real.  Of course Deb had to remind me that not all the women in the gallery could be touched, just to prove they were real.  As if...

We then strolled out past the local War memorial site.  They have a couple of awesome statues there of soldiers, both portraying the aussie spirit of giving a helping hand in times of need.  Very impressive.

From there it was a quick sprint across the road to some parkland where there were heaps of those pesky mooooovving cow statues.

When packing up the van next morning had to get a photo of one of the local pelicans that came to wish us goodbye.

It was only about 70 k's to Echuca so we decided to head to the Echuca races on Saturday for a bit of relaxation.  It soon turned into a great day with me picking a winner and collecting $65 and the next race Deb upstaging me and picking a winner and collecting $125.  What a show off.  Needless to say we had a great day at the races.

Deb's $20 winner.

Not doing much in Echuca, just relaxing before heading over to Hopetoun on Tuesday to stop at a free camp, and then we will be heading through Brim, to get some photos of the huge wheat silos that have had murals painted on them.  From what I have seen, they are pretty impressive.  You will just have to hold your excitement until Wednesdays final blog of this trip.

Keep safe and well

Barry and Deb.
